Dena Igusti (they/them, she/her) is a Queens-based writer, director, and producer, specializing in Southeast Asian diasporic storytelling. They have a training certificate in Post-Production from Made in NY. They are a 2021-2022 Digital Connections Film Fellow, 2022 Sundress Arts Resident, 2022 Best of the Net Nominee, 2022 Baldwin For The Arts Resident, 2021 Rogue Theater Festival Playwright-in-Residence, 2021 City Artist Corps, 2021 Stories Award Finalist, 2021 LMCC Governors Island Resident, 2021 Broadway For Racial Justice Inaugural Casting Directive Fellow, 2020 Seventh Wave Editorial Resident, 2020 Ars Nova Emerging Leaders Fellow, 2020 Spotify Sound Up cohort member, 2019 Player’s Theatre Resident Playwright, and 2018 NYC Youth Poet Laureate Ambassador. They are an Associated Artist for Converse All Stars, UN Together Band, and Culture Push. Writing & directing credits include: SHARUM (Players Theatre, 2019), Cut Woman (Prelude Festival, 2020), First Sight (Rogue Theater Festival, The Tank, 2021), and Kept in the Dark (New Ohio Theater, 2022). Their poetry collection, Cut Woman (Game Over Books, 2020) is a 2020 Harvard Bookstore Staff Pick and Entropy Magazine Best of 2020-2021. Dena’s original film, A Thousand Years Apart, premieres in 2022.
